This year, our JMoSB team raised a record amount of donations, the second most of any English university in Canada, for the Movember Foundation. We are thrilled to support this organization more than ever before, and are very proud of our students for participating in large numbers!
Our annual Fashion Show in support of the Montreal Children’s Hospital became an online event for the first time since its inception. Despite social distancing and masking, we are excited to have raised money for sick children during a time when they need it most: a global pandemic. We thank the support of all of our participants, models, volunteers, sponsors and our executive team for making it all possible, and look forward to hosting in person when we can.
Casa Cares recruits a team, JMSOB, an association whose main focus is the Movember Movement, in order to raise funds for Movember Canada, every November. Since 2003, this charity has funded over 1,250 men’s health projects from mental health to prostate cancer. They continuously look to improve men’s health research and revamp the way they can reach out and get support through different health services. Despite the challenges we faced this year, hosting our events virtually, we managed to raise more money for the Movember Foundation than ever before!
On March 13th 2021, a thousand residents of Greater Montreal participated in a miracle to help combat food insecurity. Among them were nearly 100 Concordia students, many of whom were captains, who helped pick up shopping bags and boxes of food from thousands doorways, porches, lobbies, steps and driveways. We are so proud to bring these individuals together to give back to our community.
Every year we organize our terrace party as our first event of the scholarly year to collect money for The Climate Reality Project Canada. Due to the circumstances, this year we hosted a covid-friendly drive-in movie night in order to raise money for the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation while assuring everyone’s safety and health during this pandemic.
CASA Cares is stepping up to support the Canadian Red Cross as this pandemic evolves. We have created the clothing-19 challenge, where people had to challenge their friends in a competition of the fattest one to put on 19 clothing items. Money donated to the Canadian Emergencies and COVID-19 Response Fund will be used to support in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing disaster relief and recovery to those in Canada or helping other vulnerable people through their domestic programs and their services.
Although our Annual Fashion Show was canceled due to the pandemic, our executive team, models, and volunteers each individually raised money for the cause. Thanks to their personnel fundraising page, we were still able to raise an amount for charity to help the sick children in need. We thank all of our Fashion Show team for working hard in raising funds for the cause.
Before our most important event, we host a Reveal Party every beginning of the year where we celebrate the new upcoming Fashion Show while revealing to our guests and audience its most anticipated theme.
A big initiative for CASA Cares is hosting the annual Movember Gala, an event dedicated to challenging the status quo and raising awareness for men’s health. The team branches out to JMOSB, an association whose main focus is the Movember Movement, in order to raise funds for Movember Canada. Since 2003, this charity has funded over 1,250 men’s health projects from mental health to prostate cancer. They continuously look to improve men’s health research and revamp the way they can reach out and get support through different health services.
Our annual Terrace Party is an event in support of The Climate Reality Project Canada. Every dollar contributed helps raise awareness for a cause in desperate need of help. The Climate Reality Project Canada is a proud member of an international community of Climate Reality Project affiliates, seeking to raise awareness among all Canadians about the urgency of the climate crisis. Climate Reality works towards educating the public about the science and impacts of climate change as well as solutions to address the climate crisis.
Every year for the past 18 years, we host an annual Fashion Show where all proceeds go directly to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. The event’s profits donated will help in the medical research towards the children’s recovery and support their families.
